There are over 40 photos so please study them all and ask questions before bidding. Rare "welch fun car" fiberglass buggy body on a volkswagen pan. These bodies were made in utah in the late 1960's and early 1970's. This one is titled as a 1969 "special construction" and has a clear california title. This car has been sitting for about two years. It will need some work before it is road worthy. We installed a new battery and fresh gas and it fired right up. It starts, runs, and stops. It will not shift into 3rd gear at speed. I am thinking it is a problem with the linkage. The brakes also need attention as the master cylinder leaks. The car does come with some new brake parts and suspension parts (please see photos) the car will have to be trailered away. The engine is a stock looking "dual port". I am guessing that it is a 1600cc. It runs ok but could use a tune up. The gas tank is also very clean inside. The fiberglass body has never been painted. It's original green metalflake gelcoat is in pretty good condition too. This buggy also comes with a very rare matching removable hardtop. It is unfortunately cracked but fixable.
