Hi there one and all! I have a very nice 1971 kawasaki f-5 350 bighorn that is waiting to go to its new rightful owner. It needs to go to a good home where somebody can enjoy it more than i can nowadays. I am on duty in the middle east for awhile yet, but if someone buys the bike, they can easily gain access to it as i have a family member who will let the new owner or shipper get it once paid for. I have a title for the f5, but since i cannot get to my files, i can offer a bill of sale and send the title onwards at a later date. It is possible that i can have a family do a thorough search and try to locate the title. I saw it when i was home recently for a much needed break and i know it is still there where i left it with all of my documents. This f5 is in very decent condition for a 47 year old machine. It is original and not restored and, as such, i am not going to ask a king's ransom for it. I saw one like this recently and the reserve was very close to the $5,000. 00 buy it now price, and it had the carburetor cover off and though it was perhaps a bit nicer cosmetically, it looked like it has had a recent "facelift" (paint job) for an easy resale. It never sold as far as i can tell. As to this bike, it is in very decent condition and in good original cosmetic condition considering the fact that it is 47 years old and has all of the original sheet metal items intact. The fuel tank has some small dings and scratches in the paint and this is not unusual for a bike of this age. It is not a show bike. It is intended to be ridden and enjoyed on a regular basis. The engine is original and the frame and engine numbers match the federal id tag that is on the steering neck. This is an auction geared toward the serious vintage kawasaki f5 bighorn enthusiast and the high starting price is to weed out the dreamers and game players from the serious and determined bidders. Apparently, the excuse they used to weasel out of the auction was that the description or the item had changed significantly. I did not change a thing in the description. They should have contacted me directly to request that i cancel their bids. Let's move ahead and get this bike on its way to its rightful new owner who will enjoy it to its fullest capability in the summer months just ahead. If i get a serious offer very close to the "buy it now" price, i reserve the right to end the auction early and sell it to that bidder. The bike must be paid in full within 7 days after the auction ends. It makes it quicker for us both. It works very well and everything functions normally. The f5 is a 47 year old bike, so i cannot offer any form of warranty as i have no control over the usage of the bike once it leaves my possession. I will happily take a $500. 00 usd deposit for the bike, but the remaining balance has to be paid in full by certified cashier's check or bank draft, or personal check within 7 days after the auction ends. Please bear with me as i may be out in the field and may not respond as quickly as i normally would like. All i can say is pray for good weather and hang on! This bike is quite capable of first and second gear wheelies by just opening the throttle, so please be careful! I may have some spare parts in stock that will go with the bike, but again, they will be sent onward when i return home at my own expense to the new owner, and that is not a bad thing! Happy bidding to one and all! Let the one motivated bidder take home the gold!
